First Visit

Thank you for choosing our office for all your oral surgery needs. We have created a comfortable environment where you can feel confident in the level of care you receive.

All new patients require an initial exam appointment unless an emergency exists. Even if you have been examined by your dentist or physician, this visit is important to determine the type of surgery requried and how your medical condition may impact providing the necessary treatment. During this initial appointment the doctor will  review your health history and medication profile, perfom an exam to determine treatment needs,  develop a plan for anesthesia,  and, if necessary, contact you physician for medical clearence and special instructions for any anticipated procedure. You will be given specific informtion concerning how to prepare for the surgery, especially if you need to be started on any medication or taken off of medications. For more involved procedures we can provide a cost estimate and assist in determining your insurance benifits for the planned procedures.

You will be asked to arrive several minutes early for the first appointment to allow enough time for you to complete all health information and insurance forms that will allow us to register you with the practice. It is helpful to bring copies of your medication list, surgical procedures, allergies, names and phone numbers of treating physicians. We also provide you with information that will get you acquainted with our office.

In order to protect you from insurance fraud, copies of your insurances cards and drivers license will be taken and kept on file.

By law, all patients under the age of 18 require an parent or guardian to be seen in the office and / or treated.

We believe that good oral surgery care begins with open communication. We promise to speak candidly with you about our diagnosis, our surgical procedures, alternative treatments that may exist and our recommendations. Working together, we can achieve a true partnership, with one common goal-keeping your smile beautiful and your teeth, gums and jaw joints healthy!
